The track is located just 15 minutes from central Copenhagen and can be reached by bike, bus and metro. An expo-area will be implemented surrounding the track entrance, for sponsors and other vendors, and food and beverage options surrounding the track. Spectators will be able to watch from the North end with great views of the full track.
Public transportation and cycling will be promoted as the optimal form of transportation to the venue for guests.
Track features
The BMX track hosted the UCI BMX world cups in 2009 and 2010 and the World Championships in 2011, it has recently undergone an extensive renovation to keep up to date as a leading and sought after BMX track.
The actual track consists of two start hills, one for challenge and championship, suiting the requirements in height and length as established from the ICU, as shown in the drawing below. The 400 meter long track have permanent myLaps decoder installations with 6 detection zones, ProStart timing for hole shot and heat information. Behind the gates there is a covered 200m2 parc fermé area with toilets and drinking water. Together with the permanent installations a set-up with all the temporary facilities necessary to host an excellent World Championships.
Samaritans, health workers and an ambulance will be on site for the full World Championship.
